GULGONG ARTS COUNCIL COMPETITION & EXHIBITION
Entries for une[art]hed 2023 have now closed.
Artworks are to be delivered to the Memorial Hall, Gulgong
between 8am and 5pm on Monday 5 June.
Opening night - with prize giving - will be held from 6-8pm on Friday 9 June.
Works will be on display between 10am and 4pm Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June.
Artworks are to be collected between 4-6pm Sunday 11 June (unless arrangements for return posting have been made).
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
We encourage artists to reflect on the theme “unearthed”. What have you found, dug up, uncovered, revealed in these recent trying years? What has been brought to light, or made public? What feelings have been brought to the surface? This theme lends itself to historical, political and personal interpretation and much more.
This year we are accepting entries in any 2D or 3D still media including (but not limited to) watercolour, oil, pastel, acrylic, textiles, drawing, sculpture, pottery and photography.
Moving works such as video, animation or anything requiring power will not be accepted.
All entries will be judged according to how they address the year’s theme and prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

$10 entry fee per exhibit (19 years and over)

$2 entry fee per exhibit (0 to 18 years).

Entry forms without a corresponding payment of fees will not be processed.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

All exhibits must be ready to hang/display including all school exhibits.

Submit a separate Entry Form for each artwork. Be sure to complete all sections.

ENTRIES CLOSE: All entry forms must arrive before midnight 29 May 2023

No late entries will be accepted. Your entry fee is non-refundable.

The cost of return postage will be the sole responsibility of artist.

Exhibits that arrive damaged will not be exhibited. Artists will be notified.

Each exhibit must be the original artwork of the artist, created within the last 36 months.

All hanging art must include a label on the back with your receipt number, your name and the name of your artwork.

Entry is open to anyone, whether a member of the Gulgong Arts Council or not. Judging will occur in a closed hall. No Arts Council members will be present during the judging process.

Judges’ decisions will be final. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into.

By participating in this competition participants agree to abide by all the decisions made by the judges (re awards) and by the Gulgong Arts Council committee (re other matters).

No responsibility is taken for artwork not collected by Sunday 11 June.

GAC accepts 20% commission on all artworks sold. Cheques will be forwarded to artists within one month of the date of sale.

Gulgong Arts Council reserves the right to photograph entries and publish these images in various media for promotional purposes.

While all due care will be taken, Gulgong Arts Council will not be responsible for any damage. Exhibitors are responsible for their own insurance.

Exhibits MUST be collected from the Memorial Hall between 4pm- 5pm, Sunday 11 June 2023. If you are not collecting your work in person, please provide your receipt to your agent as proof that they have your permission to collect your work.
