Gulgong Arts Council Inc.

Arts Council Gulgong Inc began in 1991 and is a not-for-profit community group.  A few creative artists in the community saw potential to connect children, community and creativity and so, Arts Council Gulgong Inc was born. Arts Council Gulgong based in the historic township of Gulgong in central west NSW are dedicated to supporting artists, writers of all kinds within the region.

 

With thirty (30) years experience as an organisation, the Arts Council Gulgong Inc prides itself on its professionalism and motivation, looking for opportunities where we can to promote the arts to the local youth and also to bring creative artists together in our community.

Regular meetings are held 2nd Saturday of each month at 2pm at the HUB ( Gulgong Arts HUB for Youth & Community) Gulgong Showground.

Annually, Arts Council Gulgong hold events such as Members Exhibitions,  `UneARThed’ Art and Sculpture Competition along with the Gulgong Scarecrow Stroll held each June Long weekend to coincide with Gulgong’s Henry Lawson Heritage Festival.

As a community group, Arts Council Gulgong Inc also donates prize money to local and regional schools at the end of the school year to encourage an appreciation of creativity as well as representing the arts during local community festivals

.

Some of our members display their artistic wares at `The Gallery Gulgong’ situated at 85 Herbert Street, opposite Cobb's Bakery.  You will find art, candles, textiles, scrapbooking, jewellery, wood-turned articles, ceramics/pottery and much more in this new gallery and throughout the town.  Members exhibit throughout the Central West of NSW, Sydney and Queensland.

Elected Committee

Each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in July, members elect the committee for the next year. In 2021, due to Covid-19 the AGM was held in November.
