Gulgong Arts Council is thrilled to announce the return of our annual art competition on the June long weekend of 2023.
The Opening Night with Award Presentation will be held on Friday,
9 June from 6 to 8pm. Formalities will be about 7pm but arrive earlier for canapes, local wine or tea & coffee.
The Exhibition will be open between 10am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

We encourage artists to reflect on the theme “unearthed”. What have you found, dug up, uncovered, revealed in these recent trying years? What has been brought to light, or made public? What feelings have been brought to the surface? This theme lends itself to historical, political and personal interpretation and much more.

This year we are accepting entries in any media you choose including (but not limited to) watercolour, oil, pastel, acrylic, textiles, drawing, sculpture, pottery and photography.
​
All entries will be judged according to how they address the year’s theme and prizes will be awarded for different categories (eg adult, youth etc).
